My favorite event that I was a part of was volunteering with Community Action House during their Walk for Warmth. We had the ability to be one of the title sponsors of the event and donate $3,000 to their cause. With that money they were able to pay over 90 households heat bill throughout the winter to ensure families could stay warm during winter. This truly made an impact on over 90 families and that money was generated by our amazing staff selling bundles.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds, it changes the odds.
